The conference was held at the InterContinental Hotel, Addison, Texas. The conference was preceded by ProTracker Advantage All-Day Classroom Training.

ProTracker Software released Version 6.0 of its flagship product, ProTracker Advantage. This major release provides the following new features:

• Larger screen size (1024x768).
• Additional Global List Views.
• Active filtering of List Views.
• Filtered List Views can be turned into Dynamic Groups.
• Printing of List Views and Filtered List Views as dynamic reports.
• Global Exceptions List allows you to create a list of clients with missing items.
• A Relatives area on the Client Profile screen shows you the client’s entire family.
• New Marketing List View generates live views, reports and groups.
• Address list view generates live views, reports and groups.

ProTracker Software released Compliance Manual, Version 5.0, which now includes a comprehensive Information Security Program (ISP). This new section meets SEC and state requirements. The ISP was developed from the stringent Massachusetts regulations (201 CMR 17.00) that will likely become the financial services industry standard as the SEC and the individual states embrace the Massachusetts regulations.

ProTracker Software released an Information Security Program (ISP) Manual for businesses outside of the financial services industry. The comprehensive ISP Manual meets Federal and state requirements. The ISP was developed from the stringent Massachusetts regulations (201 CMR 17.00) that will likely become the national standard for information security.

Warren Mackensen spoke to 31 attendees at the NAPFA New Hampshire Study Group Meeting held at The Old Salt Restaurant in Hampton, NH. The record number of attendees expressed great interest in learning what they needed to do to implement a solid information security program in their businesses.

Warren Mackensen, CFP, showcased the necessary ingredients for a solid information security program during a NAPFA Cutting-Edge Webinar, entitled "Information Security Program." The PowerPoint presentation featured the training program that some states require annually for employees.

Warren pointed out that the days of password protecting a PDF file attached to an email and thinking it is safe are over! New laws in many states now require a written Information Security Program and the appointment of an Information Security Officer, the encryption of all personal information in emails and attachments, the encryption of portable hard drives and laptops, an annual program review and an annual employee training program.

Warren cautioned that advisor compliance manuals need to be updated in the areas of risk assessment, Internet policy, email policy, privacy policy, acceptable use policy and records retention & destruction policy. He further warned that now is the time to get your business up-to-date with the proper information security program to protect your clients' personal information. It doesn't matter if you are state-registered or SEC-registered. A list of third-party software that may be used to implement the necessary security measures was covered.
